FOUNDRY OF POEMS WAS INSTALLED IN AN OLD WAREHOUSE IN THE PORT OF BELGRADE IN JUNE 2017
ABOUT THE SPACE
Installation space was large 1.200 m2 hall, 25 meter width and 48 meter length. Orthophoto recordings of the Republic Geodetic Bureau shows that "Hangar" last activity was, as a warehouse, from the period 2007-2010. Today, space is occasionally rented for one-time concerts and promotions or as a shooting location for films and music videos. Space has no electrical power, but has water drain and sewage system. The maximum height of the object is about 10 meters. Roof construction is wooden, well preserved and especially visually interesting, because of the interlacing wooden beams. Across the whole space span evenly distributed windows. They are arranged in six groups, three in each. There are three entrance in the space, the main, at front and two other industrial, wide ones with the vehicle ramp, at the back. The space has been dug in the ground about 0.5-meter.
INSTALLATION SETUP
Setup of the artwork started the same day as installation opening. Preparing the installation space included cleaning of the space and installing foil curtains for darkening of the windows. Electricity was provided by the mobile generator placed outside, and extension cables were brought to he center of the venue. Near them were two large tables that created an island-like space for technical gear. There were 6 projectors all-together. Main projector was the strongest one and it was used for the front projection. 4 other projectors were used for left and right side of the space, 2 for each. Roof projector was the additional one and the smallest one. Loudspeakers were distributed in 4 corners to create a multichannel, immersive experience, enhanced by the subwoofer. 6 laptops were connected with 6 projectors and one laptop was connected to audio card. Laptops were all synced and controlled from the main one.
